ANAIS

ANAIS (for Acquérir-Numériser-Analyser-Informer-Sécuriser, or Acquire-Digitize-Analyze-Inform-Secure) is a made-to-measure solution for French administrative departments that enables them to anticipate maintenance needs for their road networks and optimize infrastructure costs.
Objectives of ANAIS
- Make road sections in need of attention safer by gaining a better understanding of the network
- Provide drivers with the best information available by utilizing the infrastructure, much like a co-driver would
- Optimize and verify the impact of the investments made
- Focus on preventive measures rather than corrective efforts
Recycol

Road recycled in place
Recycol is a process for the in-place recycling of road surfaces that have deteriorated or reached the end of their useful life. The materials in place are milled, mixed and blended with the binder, then re-laid and compacted using special equipment. Recycol is a sustainable solution aimed at giving a second lease on life to existing road infrastructure while preserving non-renewable natural resources. The road section is analyzed and preliminary studies are run to determine the best approach in order to achieve a level of performance equivalent to that of a traditional repaving solution. Recycol is suitable for use on the surface and/or base courses of all roadways.
PFI Portsmouth

Comprehensive management contracts for next-generation road infrastructure
In the future, all road maintenance will be carried out under long-term, comprehensive maintenance contracts. This business model, which focuses on results achieved rather than resources committed, offers several benefits: a guaranteed level of service, secure financing and optimal results in terms of raw material savings, greenhouse gas emissions and costs.
Colas was a pioneer in this area when it entered into a PFI (private finance initiative) to maintain roads in Portsmouth (United Kingdom) in 2004. Over the PFI’s 25-year term, Colas’ teams manage everything related to the city’s road network on a day-to-day basis, including maintenance work, street cleaning and winter maintenance. Employees work to constantly improve the services provided by interacting with all the stakeholders involved (including local residents, drivers and private companies).
