Kick-off of Safety Week 2026: Preparation at the Heart of Safety
Health and safety are an absolute priority for Colas. Every day, our employees work on construction sites, in plants, quarries and operating sites around the world. In this demanding environment, risk prevention relies as much on anticipation as on the quality of preparation.
From 15 to 19 June 2026, the Group’s 62,000 employees will take part in Safety Week 2026, an annual event dedicated to sharing and raising safety awareness. This edition focuses on a key driver: the preparation of our activities.
A daily priority
Every year, Colas teams deliver thousands of projects around the world. Ensuring the safety of our employees, temporary workers, subcontractors, suppliers, local residents and users is a non-negotiable requirement.
The Group’s ambition is to strengthen a shared health and safety culture on a global scale and move towards “zero accidents”.
To achieve this goal, Colas relies on Safety Act, a global action plan to sustainably strengthen the prevention culture within the Group.
Anticipating to protect better
In Colas’ businesses, a large part of safety issues is decided even before operations begin. Risk analysis, task preparation, resource planning, team coordination, consideration of contingencies: these steps are crucial to reduce risks and better secure interventions.
Thorough preparation makes it possible to turn a potentially risky operation into a controlled one.
During this week, teams will be invited to exchange and reflect together on practical ways to strengthen:
- the anticipation of risks
- coordination between stakeholders
- adaptation to unexpected events
- the quality of operational preparation
From sports to worksites: the same need for preparation
As in sports, performance and safety are based on preparation. Athletes analyse their environment, define their strategy and rehearse their moves. This logic fully applies to our businesses: effective preparation contributes directly to the safety of operations and to collective performance.
A worldwide mobilisation
Every year, Safety Week is a key moment for discussion and sharing experience. For five days, employees take part in workshops, discussions and awareness-raising actions all over the world.
This collective mobilisation helps to strengthen prevention reflexes, spread best practices and sustainably advance the Group’s safety culture.
Because every operation starts with good preparation, Safety Week 2026 is a reminder that safety is built day by day, together.
