On 25 and 26 March 2026, Makarska in Croatia was decked out in the colours of the Colas Team Cup. At the sports centre and in the Šuma Osejava park, nearly 250 finalists – footballers, runners, artists and local relays – from 23 countries came together to conclude this fourth edition of our internal sports competition.
Beyond the figures, these finals told a story: that of women and men united by sport, by pushing their limits and by the desire to bring our four values to life: Respect, Transmission, Pioneering Spirit and Commitment, at the heart of our corporate culture.
Faster & Stronger Together
From the opening ceremony, the stands turned into a true global village worthy of major international sports events. Flags mingled, people recognised each other from the qualifying rounds, exchanged a few words – sometimes just smiles. Under the “Faster & Stronger Together” banner, the teams proudly wore the colours of their geographical zones: more than a corporate sports event, the Colas Team Cup appeared as a collective experience that unites the Group’s 62,000 employees and strengthens employee engagement.
Very quickly, borders faded: warm-ups were done together, encouragement rang out in multiple languages, group photos were organised on the spot. You no longer saw countries, but a single community brought together by sport and team building through sport.
Respect and transmission, on the field and behind the scenes
On the football pitches as well as on the athletics track, Respect came naturally: hard-fought but fair‑play duels, handshakes despite fatigue, encouragement between competitors. Finishing together mattered just as much as performance.
In the “Incredible Talents” category, that same Respect was expressed in the attention paid by the jury and the audience. Each performance – whether on stage or visual – was welcomed with care and kindness, regardless of the employee’s origin or profession.
Behind the scenes, Transmission created a link between everyone. The local relays who led the qualifying stages continued to support, reassure and encourage the finalists. The most experienced participants shared their advice with those discovering the international finals. Talents rehearsed together, helped each other out, and made last‑minute adjustments to a choreography or an instrument setting.
Pioneering spirit, commitment… and real solidarity
For many, daring to sign up, represent their zone, go on stage or take the start of a mixed 22 km relay or a 10 x 400 m relay was already a bold move. The Pioneering Spirit could be seen in the way they prepared, invented an artistic performance or turned a relay into a genuine collective project, involving international teams.
Thanks to the support of Colas Foundation, each registration also took on another dimension and became a real Commitment: 5 euros were donated to SOS Villages d’Enfants in Croatia for every participant, for a total of €22,635. In addition, three collective challenges carried out via Strava helped support organisations working with young people, with kilometres covered and hours of sport converted into donations. Sport thus became a driver of solidarity, well beyond the podiums, illustrating our approach to sports and CSR and solidarity through sport.
Winners… and closer-knit employees
At the closing ceremony, applause greeted the winners: FC Madagascar in football, the France West zone in running, Asia-Pacific for performing arts talents and the France North-East zone for visual arts.
But what everyone will remember most are the moments of sharing: impromptu training sessions, bursts of laughter, the pride of having worn their zone’s colours, and the bonds forged across borders during this corporate sports event.
In Makarska, Respect, Transmission, Pioneering Spirit and Commitment were more than just words: they were embodied in every gesture, every encounter, every event. One story came to an end… and another is already being written. Because the Colas Team Cup has now become much more than an internal sports competition: a much‑awaited gathering of sport, talent and unforgettable moments of sharing, where everyone can truly be “Faster & Stronger Together”.
