Colas Rail Strengthens Its Commitment to Professional Inclusion with the Inclusive Shared Mission Center
Colas Rail continues its ambition to make diversity and inclusion a core pillar of its HR policy. On October 7, the company inaugurated its Inclusive Shared Mission Center at its headquarters in La Défense business district just outside Paris. This innovative initiative aims to promote the sustainable integration of employees with mental health challenges, while offering them a supportive and welcoming work environment to gain experience.
A pioneering initiative to promote integration in mainstream workplaces
Conceived by the association Nouveaux Collègues, an employer consortium co-founded by Colas, LVMH, and Siemens with the support of Agefiph, the Inclusive Shared Mission Center seeks to create a working environment that fosters the inclusion of people with disabilities.
Its goal is to enable individuals with intellectual disabilities to take on meaningful, rewarding professional assignments aligned with Colas Rail’s operational needs.
The center draws inspiration from the proven model of Siemens’ Être Handicap Center (CEH), renowned for its inclusive approach centered on the gradual skills development of neurodiverse individuals to help them build lasting career paths.
Five employees already integrated within the Inclusive Shared Mission Center
Since May, five employees have joined the Center. They are supported daily by a specialized coordinator who ensures personalized follow-up and adapts assignments to each individual’s needs.
Their tasks include essential administrative activities central to Colas Rail’s HR and operational functions:
- Managing and tracking medical check-ups,
- Handling preliminary employment declarations (DPAE),
- Managing BTP (construction site) cards,
- Pre-validating expense reports.
A strong commitment embedded in COLAS Group’s CSR strategy
The launch of the Inclusive Shared Mission Center fully aligns with Colas Rail’s inclusion policy and, more broadly, that of the Colas Group, which has recently strengthened its certified agreement promoting employment, integration, and support for people with disabilities.
More broadly, this initiative reflects the group’s social vision:
- Facilitating access to employment,
- Valuing all talents,
- Creating work environments where everyone can develop according to their abilities,
- Demonstrating that diversity drives collective performance.
By placing people at the heart of its strategy, Colas Rail is helping to sustainably transform inclusion practices within the rail and construction sectors.
A significant step toward lasting inclusion
With the Center, Colas Rail shows that operational performance, social responsibility, and the recognition of atypical career paths can go hand in hand. This project marks a major milestone in the company’s commitment to professional inclusion of people with disabilities and paves the way for new initiatives within the Colas Group.
Looking ahead, Colas Rail will continue to implement concrete actions to make inclusion a daily and lasting reality.
