Colas has moved into its new Parisian headoffice

After two and a half years of construction work, Colas’ new head office - called Prism' - is now up and running, welcoming some 350 employees in the 15th arrondissement of Paris. Located right next to Issy-les-Moulineaux, the eight-story building by architect Christian de Portzamparc (Pritzker Prize 1994) is a new generation positive energy building designed to facilitate communication and teamwork.

Spectacular architecture and optimized quality of life at work

Clearly visible from the Paris ring road at a height of 36 meters, the 7,500-sq. m (80,700-sq. ft) building is surrounded by a double skinned envelope, comprised of light-colored thermo-lacquered aluminum on the interior and screen-printed glass on the exterior, which gives it a transparent, pure effect. Prism’ provides employees with optimized quality of life at work, thanks in particular to ergonomic workstations equipped with the latest computer technologies. The interior space is immersed in bright daylight, and benefits from cutting-edge thermal and acoustic comfort. A number of services are also offered, including a business center, cafeterias, a gym, e-concierge, charging stations for electric vehicles, and more.

Triple environmental certification

In addition to the quality of its architecture, the new Colas headquarters has been awarded the Green Office label for its environmental approach. It produces more energy than it consumes and received triple environmental certification: BEPOS effinergie 2013, HQE "Exceptional" 2015 and BREAAM International 2013 level "Excellent". In addition, 540 sq. m. of photovoltaic panels and a cogeneration plant with rapeseed vegetable oil have been installed on the building.

A project associating the know-how of the Bouygues group and its subsidiaries

Prism’ was built by Bouygues Bâtiment Ile-de-France - Construction Privée, a subsidiary of Bouygues Construction, on behalf of the real estate developer Bouygues Immobilier. The demolition work, earthworks and exteriors were entrusted to Colas Île-de-France Normandie. Smac, also a subsidiary of Colas, sealed the building.

According to Hervé Le Bouc, Chairman and CEO of Colas: "Through its energy performance and advanced technologies, our new headquarters symbolizes Colas' responsible development approach and capacity for innovation."
