Destia secures nine road maintenance contracts in Finland worth €112 million

Destia, the Finnish subsidiary of Colas, has been awarded nine multi-year regional road maintenance contracts by the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency and the Centres for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment (ELY Centre). Work will start in October 2025 and continue until 2030. The combined value of the contracts is 112 million Euros.
Destia will provide road maintenance in three new regions of the country, while continuing this activity in six others.
The work involves maintaining both paved and gravel roads and the road environment, including green spaces, drainage systems, road signs, equipment and structures. In one of Finland's eastern regions, Destia will also be responsible for maintaining an ice road linking two villages 7 kilometres apart.
"These contracts illustrate the expertise of Destia's teams, as well as their ability to mobilize modern methods and appropriate equipment to improve road quality and guarantee users a smooth and safe flow of traffic", says Francis Grass, Executive Vice President EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) of Colas.
Effective road maintenance depends on precise anticipation of weather and traffic conditions. Currently responsible for 33 of Finland's 79 road maintenance contracts, Destia is the country's leading provider of transport infrastructure maintenance services. Regular maintenance of road networks improves safety for users and avoids the extra costs associated with complete infrastructure refurbishment.
