Colas Rail, the rail specialist subsidiary of Colas, and Colas Sud‐Ouest, a regional road subsidiary, have secured two contracts for the construction of an extension of line D (phase 2) of the Bordeaux tramway network, serving the northwest of the city.  

The first contract was signed by Colas Rail (project leader) in a consortium with Alstom, Colas Sud‐Ouest and Fayat TP, and included the installation of track and an overhead catenary line on a 6.2‐km section, for a total contract value of 34 million euros, of which the two Colas companies will have a 21‐million‐euro share (Colas Rail: 15 million; Colas Sud‐Ouest: 6 million).  

The second was won by Colas Sud-Ouest, and involves fill, drainage and surface work for a contract value of 19 million euros.   The two contracts combined amount to a total of 40 million euros for the two subsidiaries.    

The work is slated to last 24 months, and the extension will be open to the public in October 2019.    

Colas Rail and Colas Sud‐Ouest already helped build the first three lines of the Bordeaux Tramway network.
