Colas has secured two contracts for the Brest tramway and Bus Rapid Transitst

Colas has been awarded the contract for the second tramway line (line B) and the first Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) line (line D) by the local public company BMa, as part of Brest Métropole's "Mon réseau grandit" (My network is expanding) project. The aim of this project is to improve the day-to-day mobility of users in the Greater Brest area by developing a transport network serving municipalities and districts. The total value of these two contracts is 83 million Euros. Commissioning of the entire project is scheduled for early 2026.
For line B of the tramway, 5.1 km long and serving 11 stations from Brest train station to Bellevue district and to the La Cavale Blanche CHRU, the consortium comprising Colas Projects, Colas Rail, Colas France (Territoire Ouest and Génie Civil) and Aximum will carry out the track-laying and façade-to-façade infrastructure work on the new line and its connection to the existing line A. The contract includes the construction of catenary structures, platforms, multitubulars, civil engineering for the stations, kerbs and mineral and plant coatings for the track, as well as retaining walls. The contract is worth 62 million Euros. The work is expected to take 26 and a half months to complete.
The consortium comprising Colas Projects, Colas France (Territoire Ouest and Génie Civil) and Aximum will carry out the roadworks and public space development, including design studies and façade-to-façade infrastructure work, for line D of the BRT, which will serve 13 stations over a distance of 4.3 km between Brest train station and the Lambézellec district. The contract is worth 21 million Euros. The work is scheduled to take 27 months.
