Colas has secured a Rail Head Treatment Trains contract in the UK

Colas Rail UK has signed a five-year contract with Network Rail to operate and maintain 11 Rail Head Treatment Trains in the UK during the autumn and winter periods. The contract, which will be carried out by the freight teams, is worth 58 million Euros.
During the winter, Colas Rail UK will be responsible for snow clearance on the tracks, maintenance of the associated fleet and towing of snow clearance equipment such as snow ploughs and snow blowers belonging to Network Rail. In autumn, the subsidiary will be working mainly to prevent leaves from accumulating on the rails.
This contract will ensure that the rail network remains smooth and operational all year round, responding effectively to seasonal challenges. It will help to improve the performance, safety and regularity of both passenger and freight traffic.
"This contract demonstrates Network Rail's renewed confidence in our ability to ensure the maintenance and safety of the UK rail network. It pays tribute to the expertise of our dedicated freight teams, who have been involved for over ten years in implementing seasonal maintenance solutions tailored to the needs of the network", says Hervé Le Joliff, Executive Vice President of Colas Rail.
Colas Rail has been operating in the UK for over 25 years, drawing on its comprehensive expertise in twelve rail businesses to design, build and maintain innovative, sustainable and safe transport infrastructure.
