Colas is expanding its operations in the landscaping sector with the acquisition of Golfe Bois Création in Morbihan
On September 30, 2026, Colas completed the acquisition of Golfe Bois Création, a family-owned business specializing in the design of green spaces and making wooden structures, based in Morbihan for nearly fourteen years.
Golfe Bois Création operates in three main business areas: the creation of green spaces, fencing, and ecological engineering, particularly through contracts for the development and maintenance of sensitive natural areas. It employs 38 people and generated sales amounting to approximately €8.3 million in 2025.
Recognized by a customer base composed equally of public and private sector entities, the company has a versatile market position that allows it to take part in both small projects and larger contracts.
As it grew, Golfe Bois Création also developed specific expertise in wooden structures such as decking, walkways, fences, and public furniture, which complements its landscaping and ecological engineering know-how.
The acquisition of Golfe Bois Création is fully in line with the diversification strategy of Colas France which, in addition to its traditional core road and infrastructure works business, is developing new areas of expertise that address the challenges of regional adaptation, particularly in the areas of renaturing and landscaping.
The transaction will strengthen these capabilities at the Vannes and Lorient business units and will consolidate Colas’s regional network in western France, from Quimper to the northern part of the Vendée. It will also foster operational and commercial synergy, developing comprehensive offerings, pooling study and procurement resources, and acting in complementarity with the Valormat network, particularly in the reuse of soil, wood, and green waste.
"This acquisition is in line with our diversification strategy and strengthens our landscaping, ecological engineering, and timber construction operations in Brittany. For Colas, it also represents an opportunity to support the growth of a highly successful family-owned business that has been firmly established in Morbihan for nearly fourteen years", explains Thierry Méline, Executive Vice President of Colas France.
"Joining Colas marks a new phase in the development of Golfe Bois Création. We will be able to draw on the resources and network of Colas while continuing to develop the expertise that has defined us for nearly fourteen years. This is a real opportunity for both our teams and our customers, with whom we have built strong, close relationships in Morbihan", adds Xavier Le Baron, Chairman of Golfe Bois Création.
Established in France for nearly 100 years, Colas bases its operations on a substantial nationwide network and, alongside its long-standing core transport infrastructure business, is developing new areas of expertise to support the development and adaptation of local communities.
