Colas Hrvatska to Upgrade Road and Utility Infrastructure on Cres
A Strategic Project for Mobility and Quality of Life on Cres
Colas Hrvatska, a subsidiary of the Colas Group, has signed a major contract with Hrvatske ceste (Croatian Roads)for the reconstruction and maintenance of strategic sections of the DC100 national road on the island of Cres, Croatia.
Valued at €3.63 million, the project supports a broader plan to modernize island infrastructure: improving road safety, boosting the local economy, and enhancing the living environment for residents.
Two Key road Sections to Be Upgraded
The contract includes:
- Reconstruction of the DC100 road on the Predošćica section (2.2 km)
- Maintenance works on the Beli – Predošćica section (2.1 km)
These two segments ensure connectivity between northern Cres and southern Lošinj, serving as a vital corridor for daily traffic, emergency services, and tourism flows.
Comprehensive Work for Long-Lasting Infrastructure
Major Technical Rehabilitation
The project includes a wide range of technical operations:
- Earthworks and site preparation
- Complete road reconstruction
- Geotechnical interventions and concrete structures
- Installation of road equipment and signage
Essential Utility Networks for Northern Cres
In addition to roadwork, the project also includes:
- A new high-voltage power cable to improve electricity reliability across northern Cres
- A new water supply system to secure long-term access to clean water and support future development
These upgrades reflect a strategic investment in the resilience of energy and water infrastructure on the island.
