Colas’ road and rail companies have participated in a number of tramway projects in France: Paris, Le Mans, Bordeaux, Mulhouse, Marseille, Montpellier, Saint-Etienne, Valenciennes, Nantes, Clermont-Ferrand, Strasbourg, etc.

In Morocco, Colas Rail and GTR, the Group’ Moroccan road subsidiary, are currently building the Rabat-Salé tramway.


Zoom on the work performed by Colas companies for the Paris tramway (2004-2006) :

  • 2 sections, 3-km each (total length of entire tramway: 7.9 km)
  • 41,000 m3 of cut
  • 200 km of ducts and mains
  • 30,000 tons of asphalt concrete
  • 28,000 m² of mastic asphalt
  • 31 km of curbs
  • 35,000 m² of slabs and paving stones
  • 9 platforms (i.e., 2,000 m3 of concrete and 150 tons of steel)
  • 1,100 pads including 130 pads for overhead contact system
  • 9,000 m3 of concrete for roadways and sidewalks
  • 5,500 m3 of concrete for subgrades
  • 4,000 m3 of concrete for multi-tube trenches (for RATP)
